Robert MacIntyre hits shot of the WGC Match Play, and it's not even shown!
Eddie Pepperell, European Tour and the rest of social media reacts to Golf Channel not showing Robert MacIntyre's incredible 371-yard drive to two feet for eagle at 18!
Golf fans were up in arms at the live Golf Channel broadcast of the WGC Match Play on Friday evening, as arguably the shot of the week by Robert MacIntyre was for some reason not even shown.
MacIntyre was trailing 1 down standing on the tee at the par-4 18th hole and he needed to win the hole in order to tie his match with Adam Long and progress through to the knockout stages with 2 points.
That's exactly what he did - and then some.
While we don't have video footage to back it up, as the shot has still not been shown by the Golf Channel, the PGA Tour's Shot Link revealed the Scot hit his drive 371 yards onto the green and to within two feet of the cup, which he duly converted for an eagle-two and a place in the next round of the tournament.
MacIntyre came through Group 1 with a win against Kevin Na on Wednesday and two halves against Dustin Johnson on Thursday and Long on Friday, to finish top of the table on 2 points. Johnson was eliminated from the group just moments before when Na birdied the final hole to win the match 1 up.

Eddie Pepperell was quick to react to reading about MacIntyre's incredible tee shot down the 18th hole, and he fired a tweet to Golf Channel in typical tongue-in-cheek fashion.
Hey @GolfChannel (or whoever is responsible for this atrocity)... let’s leave the Anti-Scottish sentiment to us English ok?

Pepperell's tweet was then followed by the European Tour, who were also a little miffed not to see the the group-winning drive down 18:

A large number of golf fans were also particularly disappointed not to have seen the shot on the broadcast.
Unreal. Wondered where that ball had come from. That’s shot of the year let alone the day! With what was at stake.

UPDATE: After receiving a number of comments to show the tee shot, the PGA Tour's Twitter page has now shown MacIntyre's ball rolling onto the green while Johnson and his caddie were lining up their putt in the group in front.
Here's the video clip anyway...
Don’t mind @Robert1Lefty …
