Rickie Fowler VAULTS into contention at Memorial with hole-out eagle!
Rickie Fowler jumped into the mix with a perfect chip Friday at the Memorial Tournament.
Rickie Fowler vaulted himself into contention with an incredible hole-out eagle at Muirfield Village Golf Club Friday during the Memorial Tournament.
Fowler, 34, is still searching for his sixth career PGA Tour win as he continues in a winless drought that's lasted over four years.
He's had a few close-calls since his last victory in early 2019, with his most recent runner-up coming at the Zozo Championship in October.
Last week, after missing the PGA Championship cut, Fowler bounced back with a tie for 10th at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
With it, he moved back inside to the top 50 on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) at No. 46. This time last year, Fowler was outside of the top 100.
This week, the fan favourite is with many of the rest of the top 50 at Jack's Place in Dublin, Ohio for the PGA Tour's designated event.
On Thursday, he shot an even-par 72 and was five strokes back of leader Davis Riley.
But after holing his chip at the par-5 15th Friday for eagle, Fowler vaulted himself into contention.

He went on to record a 4-under 68 and was part of a group that included both World No. 2 Jon Rahm and No. 3 Rory McIlroy at 4-under par.
They were four strokes back of clubhouse leader Justin Suh.
The 25-year-old shot a 6-under par 66 Friday and was leading Hideki Matsuyama by one stroke as the afternoon wave finished their rounds.
Billy Horschel, who was reduced to tears after an 84 Thursday, shot a much-improved even-par 72 on Friday.
It wasn't enough to make it to the weekend in his title defence, but Horschel still stuck around to sign some autographs:
Class act.
