PGA Tour winners give no reason for WDs at Mexico Open
PGA Tour's most recent winners Nick Hardy and Davis Riley decide to WD from the Mexico Open headlined by Jon Rahm.
Last week's Zurich Classic team winners Nick Hardy and Davis Riley have withdrawn from this week's Mexico Open on the PGA Tour.
Hardy and Riley, who now have full status on the PGA Tour for the next two seasons after locking up their maiden wins, have given no reason for their withdrawals in Mexico this week.
Hardy and Riley set a tournament record of 30-under par at the Zurich Classic, finishing in style in the trickier foursomes format with a flawless round of 65.
According to Golfweek, the WDs of Riley and Hardy mark the first time since November 2022 where a PGA Tour winner withdrew from a tournament he was schedule to play in the following week.
They have been replaced in the field by Ted Potter Jr and Richard S. Johnson.
Ryan Brehm has also withdrawn and he will be replaced by Tommy Gainey.

This week's PGA Tour event is being held on the Greg Norman-designed Signature Course at Vidanta.
Norman is of course the CEO on the rival LIV Golf League, backed by Saudi billions.
Some may see this as something of a surprise on the PGA Tour given the current tensions between the two Tours.
In March, the PGA Tour announced its 2023 World Wide Technology Championship was moving from the Norman-designed Mayakoba to El Cardonal Course located at Diamante Cabo San Lucas.
Mayakoba, meanwhile, switched over to LIV Golf and hosted the first LIV Golf League event of the season which was won by Charles Howell III.
