Golf Betting Tips: Sam Burns to secure fourth win of season at Travelers?
Sam Burns is one of the most in-form players on the PGA Tour and he returns to the Travelers Championship off the back of another solid display at the US Open.
GolfMagic had the perfect betting week at the US Open as Matt successfully picked out Matt Fitzpatrick at 25/1 to secure his maiden major title in Brookline. The Englishman will not be teeing it up at the Travelers Championship this week, however, there is a stellar cast playing at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut. Matt and Andy are back with four fresh selections for the week in Cromwell.
Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas and Sam Burns are the headline acts at the Travelers Championship this week at TPC River Highlands.
All four players have secured wins on the PGA Tour this season but Scheffler leads the way in that regard. The World No.1 has picked up four trophies this year including his first major title at The Masters in April.
Harris English beat Kramer Hickok in a marathon eight-hole playoff at this event last season. This was the second-longest playoff in the history of the PGA Tour.
Six of the world's top 10 players are teeing it up at the Travelers Championship this week and there will be a full fan capacity for the first time since before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Scottie Scheffler almost won his second major title of the season at the US Open last week but fell one shot short of a playoff in Brookline. The 25-year-old has been the best player on the PGA Tour in 2022 by far, winning four times and picking up almost $13 million in the process. He is third in birdie average, fourth in scoring average and he is clear at the top of the FedEx Cup standings.
Sam Burns has almost been as impressive as Scheffler this season. He has won three times, most recently at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and he has made eight top-10s in 18 starts in the 2022 PGA Tour season. He is ranked fourth in total strokes gained and fourth in strokes gained approaching the green. The 25-year-old is one of the most improved golfers on the planet and it would be foolish to overlook him at 18/1.
Joaquin Niemann doubled his PGA Tour win tally at the Genesis Invitational in February. He has made four top-10s in 18 events this season, including a tied third finish at the Memorial Tournament. The Chilean is ranked in the top 20 in strokes gained off the tee, around the green, from tee to green and strokes gained in total. The 23-year-old only turned professional in 2018 and by these statistics, he is an all-rounder.
Nick Hardy played very impressively at the US Open last week, finishing tied 14th at Brookline. He only joined the PGA Tour in 2022 and he is ranked 19th in greens in regulation and 19th in strokes gained off the tee. His performance in Boston was his best of the season and he has made three consecutive top-35 finishes now. The 26-year-old's game could be trending in the right direction and he is a great each-way price.
