Collin Morikawa the latest to endure an airport nightmare en route to playoffs
Collin Morikawa was the latest victim of a travel-related nightmare as he travelled to the FedEx Cup Playoffs on the PGA Tour.
Collin Morikawa had a heart-in-mouth moment before the FedEx Cup Playoffs when he became the latest victim to airline havoc.
Last week Jessica Korda had to play the AIG Women's Open in borrowed clothes. Shane Lowry also lost his clubs. It's safe to say travel is a nightmare at the moment.
Which is why Morikawa would have been absolutely mortified at this sight. Just look at this:
Clubs fell out of the luggage cart and sat there for a few min with no one in sight. Let’s just say I was freaking out on the inside. Here we come #playoffs pic.twitter.com/0Rwde5sHSV

Imagine how much that equipment costs and it's just sitting there...on the tarmac.
We can only imagine his heart was absolutely pumping as he sat there and looked at his expensive golf equipment helplessly abandoned.
Absolutely horrific stuff.
Thankfully, it all turned out okay. A short time later Morikawa posted this update:
There’s a hero out there somewhere pic.twitter.com/9cXzbtMR7y

As a few people have pointed out, Morikawa was also flying commercial. Considering the amount of money he has made so far in his career, that's quite a vibe.
It kinda reminded us of Cameron Smith attempting to load the Claret Jug in the overhead storage after winning the 150th Open Championship.
Smith and Morikawa's choice of travel is quite a contrast to the LIV Golf Invitational Series players.
Only a few weeks ago we saw footage of their private jet. Those scenes looked absolutely wild.
Whether or not you agree with that series is up to you. Still, they were absolutely living their best lives.

Anyway, Morikawa is heading to the FedEx St. Jude Championship with all his equipment in tact.
That is the first of three events making up the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Over the next few weeks, there is quite simply a mind-boggling amount of money up for grabs.
