Brooks Koepka in race against time to be fit for Masters following knee surgery
Brooks Koepka underwent surgery on his right knee following his latest injury issue which has had him sidelined on the PGA Tour.
Brooks Koepka is in a race against time to be fit to play in The Masters in April after he underwent surgery to his right knee following his latest injury issue.
The four-time major winner had been suffering with injuries to his left knee and hip for over a year, which led him to miss multiple tournaments in 2020 including FedEx Cup playoff events and the US Open.
At the start of 2021, Koepka revealed he finally felt fully fit and healthy again and said that his left knee had completely healed, sending warning signals to the rest of the PGA Tour by saying he planned on making his way back to the top.
It didn't take long for Koepka to start looking close to his best and he ended his long wait for a PGA Tour victory with a win at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and he quickly became one of the favourites with the bookies to win The Masters.
Unfortunately for Koepka, a new injury occurred, this time to his opposite knee, which has kept him out of action since his T2 finish at the WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession.
At the time we didn't know the extent of the injury, but Koepka has now revealed that he may miss The Masters after undergoing surgery to fix this issue.
With less than three weeks to go until the action gets underway at Augusta, Koepka was asked by Golfweek if he would be fit and ready to play, to which he said: "Whatever my body says, I’m going to listen."

Koepka took to social media to provide an update for his fans, where he posted pictures following the surgery with the caption: "Only one way to go from here."
It would be a huge blow for both Koepka and golf fans should the 30-year-old miss out on The Masters this year, given that he has finally shown signs of his best golf and with his impressive record at Augusta, there is every chance that if he is fit to play, he could go on and win his fifth major title.
