Wyndham Clark after hitting spectator's iPad: "I don't care, it screwed me up"
Wyndham Clark got an unfortunate bounce off a spectator's electronic device during the first round of the 2023 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.
U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark was involved in a bizarre situation during the first round of the 2023 Open Championship.
The American, 29, was playing the 14th hole at Royal Liverpool when this moment transpired.
As is illustrated by the clip that was captured and re-shared by @TheOpen, if you hit your golf ball in the wrong spot you'll get in big trouble.
In a stroke of misfortune, Clark's ball had clattered off a spectator's iPad and came to rest in a fluffy, tangly lie.
Long story short, Clark struggled to get the ball out of the lie. In fact, it barely moved.

From there, he did manage to escape the hole with a bogey five and by day's end posted a 3-under 68, two back of early leaders Tommy Fleetwood and South African amateur Christo Lamprecht.
After his first round Clark, who is playing his first major since capturing his maiden major at the Los Angeles Country Club, told reporters what happened from his perspective.
He said:
Clark said the person was okay, adding: "It hit his iPad, didn't hit him."
So was the iPad okay? Clark joked: "I don't care. It screwed me up!"
