REVEALED: There were 29 DIFFERENT GOLF BAG SETUPS at The Open!
Sports Marketing Surveys reveals some fascinating insight into the bag setups of the best players in the world at The Open...
The beauty of golf lies in the fact we all swing it and approach the game very differently to one another. We are also unique in the sense we do not always pick and choose the same clubs for our bags.
That was very evident at the 149th Open Championship at Royal St George's last week, as Sports Marketing Surveys revealed there were 29 different bag setups of the 156 players teeing it up.

Most popular of the 29 setups was the driver, FW, utility iron, 4-9 iron, four wedges and putter combination, which was favoured by 24.4% of the field at Sandwich.
Next up was the driver, FW, 3-9 iron, four wedges and putter combo, chosen by 12.2% of the players.
Interestingly, Open champion Collin Morikawa fell into a 2.6% category ('Setup 11 on the graphic below) consisting of driver, two FWs, 4-9 iron, four wedges and a putter.

Edit to the graphic: 'Setup 8' should read driver, FW, 2 iron, 4-9 iron, four wedges and putter, while 'Setup 26' should include a putter.
