Trump praises "tough" Tour pros, singles out Phil
President Trump spoke ahead of the 2018 Greenbrier Classic on the PGA Tour.
President Donald Trump paid tribute to PGA Tour pros at a Salute to Service dinner ahead of the 2018 A Military Tribute to Greenbrier Classic on the PGA Tour.
Trump, an avid golfer and owner of numerous courses, was invited to speak and showered praise on Tour pros.
"These are unbelievably talented people. They're talented in their mind and in their body. Their muscles are strong but their mind has to be stronger. It's tough. And these are tough people," he said.
He also singled out Phil Mickelson, who caused controversy at the recent US Open after he ran and putted his ball while it was still moving.
"I like Phil, and Phil, I think, likes me," he said.
