Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari create history at Ryder Cup
Europe take 10-6 lead into Sunday singles at Le Golf National.
Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari have created history by becoming the first European pairing to go 4-0 at a Ryder Cup, on a day where Europe stretched into a commanding 10-6 lead ahead of the Sunday singles.
Fleetwood, last year's European Tour Race to Dubai champion, and Molinari, the Open champion, took care of Tiger Woods and Bryson DeChambeau with yet another crushing 5&4 victory.
The European duo won their opening game over Woods and Patrick Reed 3&1, before defeating Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth 5&4 on Friday afternoon. Then on Saturday morning they won 4&3 over Woods and Reed once again, before taking care of Woods again in the afternoon.
Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson teamed up for a second consecutive victory (2&1) in the foursomes to put more blue on the board.
Despite halving the second hole in triple bogies, Webb Simpson and Bubba Watson defeated Sergio Garcia and Alex Noren 3&2, shortly before Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth continued their impressive partnership together by defeating an out-of-form Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter 4&3.
Europe now require just four and half points from the remaining 12 singles matches on Sunday to win the Ryder Cup.
The United States last won the Ryder Cup on European soil in 1993.
The Sunday singles matches will be revealed shortly...
