Spiranac: don't overlook role of women in sexual harassment
Pro golfer says "women have to realise they play a part in this too".
Paige Spiranac has given her views on sexual harassment following the Harvey Weinstein scandal, expressing the view that men and women are both to blame.
The pro golfer has over 1.2 million followers on Instagram, and took to Twitter to share her views.
"Women have to realise they're part of this, too," Spiranac told Golf Digest. "I've had women say, 'She deserves to be treated like that because of what she's wearing' or 'She belongs in a back alley, not on a golf course.'"
I’m happy the issue of sexual harassment/assault is being talked about. There needs to be change. Be respectful.

But the narrative that it’s only men and men are evil isn’t okay either. We, as women, need to own up to how we speak about other women

I’ve been more harassed, slut shamed, bullied, and degraded by women. To my face and behind my back.

If you’re outraged by men speaking and treating women that way then don’t speak about women just as they do. To see change, we must change

And we have all made mistakes, so be forgiving and let’s help each other be better and more understanding
