Police officer bitten, another punched while giving first aid as fight erupts at golf club dinner
A private party at Tregenna Castle Hotel turned into a Royal Rumble.
A police officer was bitten and another was punched while giving first aid as West Cornwall Golf Club members celebrated their annual dinner at Grade II listed building Tregenna Castle Hotel on Friday.
Members were celebrating before things escalated at 11.30 PM at the private party causing hotel staff to call the police. Apparently overly energetic dancing is thought to be the cause, with some members being concerned around safety on the dancefloor.
The woman accused of biting the police officer is thought to be the daughter of a club director. Two of the people involved are not members of the club, and were invited as guests.
Two people were arrested at the scene and three police officers suffered injuries.
3 officers assaulted last night in Cornwall:
1 bitten by female prisoner in St Ives.
1 punched whilst giving first aid to an injured male in Camborne.
