Pep Guardiola celebrates Man City Premier League triumph on golf course
Manchester United lose to West Brom to hand Guardiola's City the title while he played golf.
Manchester United won their first Premier League title with Sir Alex Ferguson on the golf course, and Manchester City's Pep Guardiola followed in his footsteps on Sunday.
Guardiola decided to play golf with his son rather than watch United's home game against West Brom on Sunday.
City, who beat Tottenham 3-1 on Saturday, were consequently crowned champions with a month of the season still to go as United suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the all-but relegated Baggies.
"The only score I want to know is bogey or birdie," Guardiola said prior to learning the result. "Will I hear the scores? Bogey, double-bogey, birdie."
Asked his handicap recently, Guardiola replied: "It's certainly not good enough to shoot 61."
Former United manager,Sir Alex Ferguson was playing golf when the Red Devils' first Premier League title was confirmed by Oldham's victory at Aston Villa in May 1993.
