Golf social media sensation Paige Spiranac believes "12 holes is the perfect amount of golf" that recreational players should be playing - and not necessarily always 18.

Spiranac, 31, made her feelings about the game be known in her latest episode of 'Smokin Hot Take of the Day' on X / Twitter.

The former Tour pro considers amateur players and those looking to just have some fun out there on the golf course should consider a "six, six, six" approach to a round.

That way if they aren't having such a great round of golf after the first or second loop of six holes, then they can just walk in.

If they are having a round to remember then they are given the option to continue with the final loop of six and play the full 18 holes.

Paige is not talking about PGA Tour or competitive golf, but solely those who play the game for fun, recreational purposes.

"Instead of nine and nine, here's what you do... six, six and six," said Spiranac.

It's fair to say Spiranac's latest take on the game has divided opinion on social media.

Some love it, while others strongly disagree.
