Night golf: Would YOU play more if it was available in the UK?
It's tough for golf courses to make money in ordinary circumstances - is night golf just a bad idea?
Around the world, most golf courses start emptying at sunset - but there are some that play 24/7.
It seems night golf is very popular in warmer climates such as Dubai, but would you play more if it was available in the UK?
Or is it more of a novelty that you would do on holiday with your mates?
The concept became more popular in 2018 with the installation of floodlights at many golf courses in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Of course, it costs a fair chunk of change to keep this course running - the cost alone to light these courses and employ extra staff must run into the thousands.
In the UK there may be issues with putting up lights close to residential areas as people will likely not want their neighbourhoods lit up into the early hours.
There's also the issue of sustaining a level of enthusiasm over time - it may be a novelty that could potentially wane.
For those working 9am till 5pm it does have a distinct appeal in the summer months and in the autumn months where the weather is more tolerable.

The Ladies European Tour tried out the concept for the OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic.
It proved popular with the players including Georgia Hall saying they would play again in such an event.
Forget the expenses of golf courses and a pretty dodgy business idea, there's also the added cost to the player.
You'll ideally have to use LED golf balls or glow stick golf balls as most of the time, night golf courses only light up tee boxes, parts of the fairways and the greens.
Chances are, you'll probably lose a lot of golf balls if you go off line.
Is night golf just a non-starter?
