intelligentgolf rolls out new technologies to support golf clubs
intelligentgolf launches new features as golf clubs transition to post-lockdown world
The UK's leading provider of golf club management software, intelligentgolf, has today announced a number of enhancements to its platform by providing virtual scorecards and app-based remote food and drink ordering systems.
Launching in time for the opening of leisure and hospitality venues in England, a fully digital scorecard for competitions, on which scores can be verified remotely by competition officials while maintaining safe social distancing measures will be available for all clubs.
The app, which also ensures all rounds are scored in compliance with R&A rules, could be a key catalyst in the move from paper scorecards in favour of digital systems over the next decade. intelligentgolf held weekly roundtables via Zoom with over 160 golf clubs to determine the most important elements to them and their players in the development of these innovative new features.
intelligentgolf will also give its clients the option to allow members to order food and drink remotely through its app to be delivered directly to their table.
Orders will be processed directly in the EPOS system, reducing the need for physical contact in golf clubs and ensuring the safety of staff and members alike. intelligentgolf is the first software service to make this service available to golf clubs, preparing their facilities for the opening of bars and restaurants on July 4.
Both technology offerings come at a vital time as golf clubs have experienced a dramatic rise in tee bookings since the government announced the reopening of course in May. intelligentgolf reported a 570% year-on-year increase in bookings through its system on May 12 when golf courses officially reopened.
"Following a challenging period for clubs up and down the country, it’s heartening to see golfers return in great numbers," said Jamie Abbott, managing director of intelligentgolf.
"The wellbeing of golfers and golf club staff should continue to be of the utmost importance as the industry opens its doors more widely. Clubs will see even more traffic as the lockdown relaxes and bars and restaurants return to operation.
"Our new technology solutions will make it easier for clubs to maintain safe social distancing while providing the same high levels of service their members have come to enjoy.
"Technology plays an ever-growing role in golf, and features like this will drive wider adoption across the industry in the coming years."
In support of golf clubs during these difficult times, intelligentgolf is providing free access to the mobile ordering system until September 1, allowing clubs to trial the solution during the lockdown.
The technology is easily implemented into a golf clubs’ existing systems and at the press of a button, they can start taking orders directly from tables.
