Why Torrance invests in Dubai
Ryder Cup captain buys into The First Group scheme
Former Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance has become one of the latest investors in top property development company The First Group, joining England and Newcastle footballer Michael Owen in owning a property based in the heart of the world famous Dubai Sports City. He said: “Investing in Dubai has been on my radar for a while now. I've been going there since the late 1980s with the European Tour but had not found the right opportunity until now. It gives me the perfect opportunity to be involved with an investment and to use for either friends or family once it's constructed. Ernie Els' course there is excellent." The First Group is one of Dubai’s top property development companies with over 20 years experience of development in respected European markets. It has a strong track record in offering top quality, unique properties with high capital growth potential. Announcing the agreement, joint chairmen Danny Lubert and Gary Shepherd welcomed Sam to their UK offices in Guildford, Surrey, where he met with staff and looked over some of the artist impressions of what the finished developments in Dubai Sports City will eventually look like. The First Group currently has a selection of luxury developments in Dubai, with three in Dubai Sports City that include the sold out Diamond and Bridge developments and the ultimate in stylish residence, The Matrix, where the Torrance property is based. During the signing of the contract Sam took some time out to give golfing enthusiast Danny Lubert a few tips on his golf. He said: “We are delighted to have Sam join Michael Owen as one of The First Group’s ambassadors and investors. The region of Dubai and The First Group properties continue to present a hassle free, time efficient investment with a high potential return. The Diamond and The Bridge have been two great success stories for us so far and The Matrix looks set to set the bar even higher. It is great to see another well known sporting icon support us as we continue to expand into other regions within the Emirates.” |
