GEL Golf took the opportunity of exhibiting at the London Golf Show to launch its new range Paul Hurrion signature groove putters. The sports biomechanist and putting coach, who works with top name players including Padraig harrington and Lee Westwood has incorporated the innovative horizontal groove insert technology into his designs reflecting over 10 years of research and development into the art and science of putting. | ||
Testing has proved that the use of grooves in putter faces creates instant forward roll on the golf ball and reduces the unwelcome effects of skidding which is quickly spotted in slow-motion photography of a putt after impact. Hurrion says his analysis of putting has proved that the performance of a golf ball during the first portion of the roll is the most crucial element to direct it along its intended target line. GEL putters use a firm, multi-layer aluminium insert over a larger area allowing the designer to position weight around the perimeter of the club head for improved stabilitiy and forgiveness. The Paul Hurrion Signature Range, features four models - Sedo, Sedo II, Scindo and Rego, all of which are on sale for £165. |
