Cobra irons launch
March date for SSi clubs
Resurgent Cobra is building on the success of its King Cobra SS370 Unlimited driver by introducing a new range of King Cobra SSi irons. The ‘oversize’ clubs are claimed to deliver ‘improved feel, a larger sweetspot and greater distance. The skid sole, says Cobra, is designed to reduce ‘digging and thin shots’ while the thin-face perimeter weighting ‘produces a hot sweetspot for longer, more accurate shots.’ A urethane insert has been added to the back of the clubhead 'to help absorb vibration.' The clubs will be available in March 2003 in men’s women’s and senior versions – with a range of custom-fitting shaft options. You’ll pay £469 for nine irons (3-SW) in men’s steel shafts and £569 for lightweight Aldila graphite shafts. Senior models (4-SW) will cost £499 for eight graphite-shafted clubs and for women, who will receive seven clubs (5-SW), the cost is £439. Says Cobra’s European marketing director John Peal: "The new irons are ideal for golfers all abilities seeking distance and forgiveness at an affordable price." |
