Callaway Golf has added drivers and fairways to its new line of X Hot irons and hybrids.

The woods have been configured for blistering ball speeds and distance gains thanks to the brand’s powerfully fast Speed Frame Face Technology that promotes more consistent distance, even on off-centre hits.

By decoupling the face performance from the rest of the driver head, Callaway is able to boost ball speed without sacrificing optimum trajectory.

“With the X Hot drivers, we pushed Speed Frame Face’s efficiency to a new standard producing high ball speeds while maintaining trajectory and accuracy that discerning golfers demand,” said Callaway’s senior vice president of R&D Dr Alan Hocknell.

“The fast face on X Hot is one piece of the puzzle, though. We went to great lengths to configure the X Hot drivers not only to promote distance but to progressively optimise performance for various player types.”

The driver features Callaway’s thinnest ever casting technology in an all-titanium head, which creates a lighter swing weight and overall configuration. Another benefit of this technology is the inclusion of Draw Bias Progression – changes the amount of draw bias depending on the loft.

Other features include the familiar OptiFit Hosel that adjusts the face angle to open, square or closed for improved accuracy and trajectory, and standard Project X Velocity shaft.

The 460cc X Hot driver will be available from January 25 in 9.5-, 10.5-, 11.5- and 13-degree at RRP £249, while the 440cc X Hot Pro Driver will feature slightly more open face angles than the standard version at RRP £279.
