Brendan Lawlor claimed the inaugural G4D Open at Woburn.
Brendan Lawlor edged out Kipp Popert in an engrossing contest to claim the inaugural G4D Open at Woburn.
Lawlor roared back to the World No. 1 spot with his victory.
The two players could hardly be separated in a thrilling final round before Lawlor pulled clear and won by two shots at the Duchess Course.
Lawlor, 26, from Ireland, finished on 3-over with a total of 219. He posted a final round of 75. Popert carded a 76.
The tournament was held in partnership with The R&A and DP World Tour. It featured nine sport classes across multiple impairment groups.
Lawlor was at the receiving end of some unpleasant comments on social media at the start of the week.
He has a rare condition called Ellis-van Crevald syndrome, characterised by shorter stature and limbs.
