Right, let's get into it.

1. Make the most of winter golf

It can be hard to convince yourself to get out on the golf course when it's cold and wet but if you do go ahead and battle the elements then you will undoubtedly reap the rewards in the summer.

You will also have all the shots in the bag, especially if you're testing yourself out in the wind and when it's freezing cold where the ball is going nowhere.

If you can play well when you are wet and cold, it will more than likely mean you can play well when the sun is shining.

Be sure to wrap up warm and get out there. Your golf game will thank you in the long run.

2. Practice putting

The quickest way to lower your golf scores is to practice your putting.

Whether it's hitting a few putts in the lounge or down the local practice putting green, every bit of practice will help you out in the long run.

There are plenty of helpful training aids out there to improve your putting so be sure to take a closer look.

Furthermore, why not just stick a circular place mat down on the ground, or roll a ball into a mug. The beauty of putting is that is can just about be done anywhere.

While putting practice may not be as fun as getting on the range and smoking 100 balls with your driver, it will dramatically improve your chances of getting the handicap down.

3. Play a bucket list course

Whether it's the Old Course at St Andrews or Pebble Beach, 2025 is definitely a year to tick off one of your bucket list courses.

Life is too short.

While elite golf courses may be expensive, playing one will undoubtedly be an experience to remember... and make you realise just how good these guys are on Tour!

4. Plan a golf trip

Life is too short to wait around for one of your friends to organise a golf trip.

Especially if it's THIS GUY!

Be the mastermind and get booking yourself.

Whether it's a sun-kissed course in The Algarve or a gem like Bandon Dunes, you won't regret booking the trip of a lifetime.

Don't wait, do it. You have our blessing.

5. Introduce someone to golf

You don't have to have the backing of PIF to grow the game, you can do it yourself.

Take a mate down the driving range or invite a member of your family for a quick nine holes.

You can never have enough golf partners.

6. Make realistic goals

While we would all love to be playing off scratch this time next year, setting some more realistic goals might lead to a more satisfying reflection period in the new year.

Whether it's breaking 90 or making your first birdie, any milestone should be celebrated.

Many of the world's best players write out lists of season goals in their Notes on their phones, so why not follow suit and then see how many you've achieved at the end of the year.

7. Watch live golf

Nothing quite compares to hearing professional golfers hit a driver off the tee, and while it sounds good on TV, it sounds even better live in person.

If you want to gain a better appreciation for how good the best in the world are, see if you can witness it for yourself by attending a live golf event in 2024.

If some of you out there don't quite fancy watching live PGA Tour, DP World Tour or LIV Golf events, why not give Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's brand new indoor TGL a go when it starts up in January 2025?

Whatever you do though, try and find a bit of time in your schedule to either watch some live golf coverage on TV or in person - you never know what you might learn or take away from the world's best.

Sky Sports Golf also regularly provides helpful golf tips and tricks you can take into your own game during their live coverage of PGA Tour events.

8. Get custom fit

We bang on about custom fitting a lot here at GolfMagic, but there is honestly no better way to set yourself up for success than having the right clubs.

There are countless custom fitting centres up and down the country to meet your needs, and one of our favourites is Custom Golf Works in Woking.

9. Track performance

Figuring out where you consistently lose shots can be tricky at times, so to take the stress away, we highly recommend tracking your performance in 2024 with a product like Arccos.

Not only will you better understand how to improve, but you can also see which clubs in your bag are earning and costing you shots during your round.

Using Arccos will also allow you to look back on your golf in 2024 with incredible detail and accuracy.

10. Play faster

This should go without saying, but everyone should be aiming to play a little faster in 2025.

Don't be one of those players who takes longer than necessary over a shot, or be that person that leaves a bag the other side of the green in relation to the next tee.
