Sky Sports reveals some very pleasing figures following the 2023 Solheim Cup, which saw Europe retain the trophy with a 14-14 tie.

Sky Sports has revealed a record-breaking number of viewers tuned in to the 2023 Solheim Cup at Finca Cortesin in Spain last week. 

The broadcaster has told GolfMagic its audience peaked at 734k on the final day, which is the highest-ever recorded figure for the biennial event on Sky Sports Golf. 

Over the three tournament days, an average Sky Sports audience of 281k tuned in to the action.

Sunday's climatic race for the Solheim Cup saw the highest average of 438k, which was 30% up on the 2021 final day in Ohio.

Sky Sports has also confirmed every day's play beat its average from the 2021 Solheim Cup or earlier, with every day seeing a peak of more than 400k.

Suzann Pettersen's Team Europe retained the Solheim Cup after Carlota Ciganda won the crucial 14th point to see out a 14-14 tie. 

Team USA's captain Stacy Lewis has since questioned whether that is the best way to end the contest

Sky Sports also reported more than 3.7m views of its Solheim Cup editorial content, with 193.4k VOD views on skysports.com and their app. 

The Sky Sports Golf's Twitter (X) channel saw more than 5.6m impressions and 1.7m views, with the video of Emily Pedersen's hole-in-one on Sky Sports TikTok drawing in over 25k views.
