LIV Golf utilise super sub after pro WDs from Singapore event
Sam Horsfield has withdrawn from the LIV Golf Singapore event this week and will be replaced on Majesticks GC by the league's No. 1 sub.
Sam Horsfield has been forced to withdraw from LIV Golf Singapore.
Horsfield, 26, is a member of the Majesticks GC with Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, and Lee Westwood.
He joined LIV Golf ahead of its inaugural tournament in London last year, and re-joined the Majesticks again for LIV Golf's second season.
Horsfield played in all previous LIV Golf events this season before withdrawing mid-way through last week's LIV Golf Adelaide.
His team went on to finish second-to-last with a tournament total of 27-under.
Dustin Johnson's 4 Aces GC won the team portion of the tournament at 47-under par.
Talor Gooch won the individual leaderboard by just three strokes despite having a 10-shot lead heading into the final round on Sunday.
This week, the league is travelling to Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore for its fifth tournament of the 14-event 2023 season.
And ahead of the tournament, Horsfield has already been listed as withdrawing from the tournament, and Laurie Canter is set to replace him.
Canter, 33, has all but been a main member of the LIV Golf league so far this season despite being a sub, having played much of the season already in replace of Cleek's GC's Martin Kaymer.
Kaymer returned for LIV Golf Adelaide last week where he finished 46th and his team finished last at 24-under par.
Canter also joined LIV Golf ahead of its inaugural London event in 2022 and finished the eight-event season ranked 28th on the individual points list. He split his season playing between both the Cleeks and the Majesticks before becoming a sub for 2023.
This week's Singapore event is set to begin 28 April.
