Joaquin Niemann joins LIV Golf ahead of Boston event
Joaquin Niemann has decided to leave the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf.
Joaquin Niemann has decided to join LIV Golf ahead of this week's Boston tournament, his manager has told The Associated Press.
Niemann, 23, is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour and ranked 19th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
The Chilean won the Genesis Invitational in February this season, a tournament presented by Tiger Woods.
"Going but has not signed it yet," Niemann's manager Carlos Rodriguez told AP ahead of LIV Golf Boston.

Niemann, who picked up just shy of $1 million for finishing tied 11th in the FedEx Cup on Sunday, is said to currently be on his way to Boston right now where he will make his LIV Golf debut on Friday.
He will now be suspended by the PGA Tour for committing to the LIV Golf Tour, and he will also miss out on competing in the Presidents Cup from September 22 to 25.
Niemann was in the emergency meeting for PGA Tour players that discussed all things LIV Golf prior to the BMW Championship two weeks ago.
He was said to have been mulling over the decision with his father in recent days as to whether stick or twist, but he has ultimately decided to take the money on LIV Golf.
Niemann is good friends with Mexico's Abraham Ancer, who recently made the move to LIV Golf, and he is also mentored by Sergio Garcia, who joined LIV Golf from the very start earlier this summer.
It also marks yet another adidas Golf member moving over to LIV Golf, which perhaps explains this crazy $1 billion rumour about the brand.
Cameron Smith is expected to be officially confirmed as a LIV Golf player ahead of Boston, along with a number of other PGA Tour players.
The Australian is believed to have agreed a deal in the region of $100 million.
Similarly to Niemann, he will also miss out on the Presidents Cup due to moving to LIV Golf.
American Cameron Tringale confirmed he was making the move to LIV Golf over the weekend.
PGA Tour players Harold Varner III, Marc Leishman and Anirban Lahiri are also expected to be confirmed as new names on the LIV Golf roster this week.
There could also be one more, according to multiple reports citing seven players in total will jump ship ahead of Boston.
Despite plenty of rumour linking him with LIV Golf, Cameron Young confirmed he was sticking with the PGA Tour.
