How much Rory McIlroy and others won at the Tour Championship
Rory McIlroy scoops huge $18 million FedEx Cup bonus - here's how much they all won at the Tour Championship.
Rory McIlroy scooped the biggest tournament pay cheque of his career on the PGA Tour with a whopping $18 million FedEx Cup bonus for having won the Tour Championship at East Lake.
McIlroy now becomes the first player in the history of the FedEx Cup to win it three times, having previously held the record with Tiger Woods.
The Northern Irishman started the week six shots off the pace in the staggered scoring system at the Tour Championship, and that quickly fell to 10 shots when he started triple bogey-bogey on the first two holes.
But a third-round 63 hauled himself back into contention and despite going into the final round six shots behind Scheffler, the Ulsterman's closing 66 was good enough to prevail by one stroke over an out-of-form Scheffler (73) and Sungjae Im (66).
