'No idea' Shane Lowry makes baffling golf equipment claim at Arnold Palmer Invitational
Shane Lowry reveals he has no idea what driver he's using en route to taking the lead at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Shane Lowry admitted to not having a clue about which new driver he was using en route to taking the lead at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Lowry, 37, told reporters after opening with a 69 on Thursday that he had been testing a host of new drivers on the range at famed Bay Hill in the lead up to the latest $20m signature event.
Only the PGA Tour star wasn't sure which driver made the cut.
"It’s another Srixon one. I have no idea," said Lowry, who has been a Srixon staff player since 2010.
"I had about 15 drivers on the range on Tuesday here, so no idea which one I ended up with.
"I've been tinkering a little bit with drivers. I think there's something wrong with the driver I was using last week for a few days.
"I used something different on Sunday and I used something different again today.
"So I don't have a hundred percent trust in that yet, but I did hit some really nice drives there towards the end, apart from 18.
"I'm pretty happy with what I have in the bag, I just need to be able to stand up on holes like 18 and trust myself to start it down the left and commit to that shot.
"As the week goes on hopefully I'll do that and, yeah, you never know where it will leave me."
GolfMagic can confirm to Lowry he is in fact using a Srixon ZXi LS Driver.
Pretty amazing from Shane Lowry

Has used a different driver in each of his last three rounds.
Tested 15 drivers earlier Tuesday... and doesn't even know which model he has in the bag now!

Lowry then shot a superb 67 on Friday to surge into a two-shot lead heading into the weekend.
After the second round, the 2019 Open champion confirmed he used the same Srixon driver.
He also admitted his issues off the tee had nothing to do with the equipment he was using but more just the trust he had in himself at the moment.
"I did, yeah," Lowry said of remaining with the Srixon ZXi LS Driver on Friday.
"It's not the driver -- I don't know if it's the driver issues, because my good ones are pretty good, it's just I don't have a lot of trust in it at the minute.
"There's a lot of tough tee shots out here and you really need to trust yourself. It's getting there, it felt a little better, but not as comfortable as I normally am.
"It's normally one of the best clubs in my bag. But I feel like when I do get it in play I can be pretty dangerous."
Lowry leads Wyndham Clark by two shots with 36 holes to play at Bay Hill.
A host of star names are tucked in behind including Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day.
Clark's second-round 71 was not without its fair share of controversy.
That was all over a pitch mark ruling on the 3rd hole.
