Ian Poulter goes back to old flame ahead of 2024 LIV Golf opener
Ian Poulter has taken to Instagram to confirm he is putting 'old faithful' back into play for the first LIV Golf League event of 2024.
One of the benefits of being an equipment free agent is the ability to constantly tinker.
Ian Poulter is doing just that and the Englishman has revealed he will be putting 'old faithful' back into play for the 2024 LIV Golf League opener.
The 48-year-old took to Instagram to confirm he will be putting the Titleist 906F2 fairway wood back into the bag.
The club dates back to 2006 and Poulter says he used it from 2009-2011 and it was in play when he won the WGC-Match Play, Volvo World Match Play, Honk Kong Open and Singapore Open.
"Sometimes you have to go back and find the clubs you simply loved," Poulter wrote on Instagram.
He added: "I've been looking for a 240 - 245 carry. My old 906F2 Titleist was that once.
"Pulled it out and OMG it's incredible. Coming back to play. Can't wait to bring her back. Old is good sometimes.
"It has some battle wounds but she has also holds great memories. I won several events with it. Let's hope we can again."
