Nike unveils Flyknit Elite golf shoe
New Nike shoe debuts Articulated Integrated Traction, negating spikes
Nike has unveiled its Flyknit Elite shoe, designed with a flat, stable front foot and torqueing back foot to increase power and consistency.
The shoe debuts Articulated Integrated Traction, which hopes to decouple the medial heel and lateral foot area to help propel the golfer through the swing.
"When our team of designers started creating what would become Articulated Integrated Traction we factored in foot performance through every aspect of the swing,” explains Gentry Humphrey, VP Nike Golf Footwear.
“We also considered the various surfaces and angles a golfer has to play through each and every round and worked hard to create traction that performs in every condition."
The channels keep the player lower the ground for better balance, and a TPU thread design offers constant traction, negating the need for spikes without a drop in grip.
This is paired with a full-length Lunarlon midsole for cushioning, and a light, breathable one-piece Flyknit upper.
Dynamic Flywire offers midfoot control while a mid-height collar stop debris entering the shoe.
