Xander Schauffele held his nerve to claim his first major at the 2024 PGA Championship.
The American birdied the 72nd hole to defeat Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke at Valhalla Golf Club.
There are many perks to winning a professional golf tournament and one of them is the astronomical prize money on offer.
On 18 May, the PGA of America announced record prize money of $18,500,000 for the 2024 edition.
That represented an increase of $1,000,000 from last year where Brooks Koepka claimed his fifth major title at Oak Hill.
Schauffele scooped the top prize of $3,330,000. DeChambeau picked up just under $2,000,000.
