US Open Golf 2022 LIVE: Final Round Scores & Updates

England's Matt Fitzpatrick holds off World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and Will Zalatoris to win his first PGA Tour title and first major championship at Brookline.

Matt Fitzpatrick has won his first major championship - and first PGA Tour title - with an incredible victory at the US Open at Brookline, also the scene of his US Amateur triumph in 2013.

Fitzpatrick, 27, carded a final-round 68 to finish 6-under par and one shot clear of playing partner Will Zalatoris and World No.1 Scottie Scheffler.

The Englishman now joins the great Jack Nicklaus as the only other player to win the US Open and US Amateur on the same golf course. Nicklaus achieved the feat when winning his second US Amateur in 1961 and his third of four US Open titles in 1972 at Pebble Beach.

Fitzpatrick also becomes just the fourth Englishman to win the US Open in the last 100 years, joining Cyril Walker (1924), Tony Jacklin (1970, Hazeltine) and Justin Rose (2013, Merion).

McIlroy is back to square one now as he failed to find the cup with his lengthy par putt.

He is now back to three shots behind Will Zalatoris, Matt Fitzpatrick and Scottie Scheffler...

The last group is underway!

Will Zalatoris and Matt Fitzpatrick have teed off in the final round of the US Open, sharing the lead on 4-under alongside new co-leader Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler shares the lead!

What an amazing start from the World No.1! Scottie Scheffler birdies the 2nd hole to reach 4-under-par alongside Will Zalatoris and Matt Fitzpatrick.

Scheffler dialled in his tee shot on the par-3 2nd hole to 13 feet and he calmly rolled it in to share the lead.

He is looking for his second major title and fifth PGA Tour win of the season...

Scottie makes MIRACLE BIRDIE!

Scottie Scheffler received an awful break in the middle of the 1st fairway, but the World No.1 still made birdie!

He found the fairway with his drive, but his ball rolled into a divot hole and he had a hideous lie.

The 25-year-old hit his approach to six feet with a bit of backspin and holed the birdie putt!

Scheffler is now one shot behind on 3-under, with leaders Will Zalatoris and Matt Fitzpatrick set to tee off in about five minutes...

Birdie on the 1st for Rory!

Scott rolls in a beauty!

Adam Scott may be too far back to win his second major title, but the putter is hot in the final round in Brookline.

The popular Aussie rolled in a huge 24-footer on the par-4 10th hole to reach 3-over for the championship.

What score is too far behind for someone to make a comeback in the final round of the US Open?

Seamus Power birdies the 1st

All Irish eyes will be on Rory McIlroy today, but let's not forget about Seamus Power who has just birdied the 1st hole to move into contention on level par.

Riley is making his US Open debut this week.

He's now up into the top 20.

16:39
Brooks off to a shocker

There will be no US Open hat-trick for him this week.

Welcome to the final day of the US Open!

Welcome to GolfMagic's LIVE commentary of the final round of the US Open from The Country Club at Brookline. It's set to be an incredible last day of action with some of the world's best players all in the mix for the third major of the season.

Matt Fitzpatrick and Will Zalatoris share the 54-hole lead on 4-under par after a late double bogey from defending champion Jon Rahm on the final hole last night.

Rahm is still right there though just one shot off the pace, as too is World No.1 Scottie Scheffler who is only two shots back alongside Keegan Bradley and Adam Hadwin.

And then there is Rory McIlroy, a man going in search of back-to-back wins on the PGA Tour and more importantly a first major title in eight years. McIlroy starts the final round three shots behind on 1-under par alongside in-form Sam Burns and Joel Dahmen.

The leading groups tee off from 7pm UK time.
