Bryson DeChambeau is your 2024 US Open champion!
A simply sensational up and down on 18 secures the par that wins him his second major title.
Heartbreak for McIlroy but a sublime finish for the long hitting American.
That is simply sublime from DeChambeau.
The bunker shot looked tough, and he's knocked it to about five feet.
One more putt, and he will be a two-time US Open champion.
DeChambeau was forced to pitch out from the left rough, and his ball ended up in a bunker short of the green.
He's got about 50 yards to the pin.
This is make or break for Bryson.
Up and down and the US Open is his.
McIlroy -5 (18)
That could haunt McIlroy for quite some time.
The Northern Irishman had a two-and-a-half footer to save par on the 18th, and his ball has just drifted past the right side of the cup.
A bogey means DeChambeau just needs to make par on the 18th to secure his second US Open title.
DeChambeau -6 (17)
DeChambeau's birdie putt comes up just short, so he has to settle for a par on the 17th.
He's just stood up on the 18th tee and blasted it left into the rough.
It looks like he will need to get a ruling, as there are plenty of obstacles over there.
It's all action at Pinehurst No.2.
McIlroy -6 (17)
McIlroy made the bold decision to take driver on the 18th, and he's paid the price.
His ball landed in the rough, and he's now got his work cut out to save par.
The pressure is mounting and DeChambeau has produced an absolute beauty on the 220-yard par three 17th.
He's knocked it to about ten feet and has an excellent chance to take a one-shot lead.
McIlroy -6 (17), DeChambeau -6 (16)
It's tight at the top and pars for both McIlroy and DeChambeau means it's locked and level at the top.
Both players sit at six under and we are running out of holes.
McIlroy -6 (16)
A shocker for McIlroy. Having navigated the 16th with relative ease, he's missed a two-footer for par.
DeChambeau's miss was bad, but McIlroy's was worse.
The pressure looks to be getting to them both.
DeChambeau -6 (15)
A costly three-putt on the par three 15th sees DeChambeau drop an unexpected shot.
He only had 20 feet for birdie but was heavy-handed with his first putt, rolling it five feet past.
He's been solid from short range all day but sees his par putt lip out and has to walk off with a bogey.
That could be the putt that costs him the US Open.
A bad time to make your first three putt of the tournament.
McIlroy -7 (15)
McIlroy produced a solid chip from the rough on 15 but couldn't get it close enough for a one-putt.
He's had to walk off with a bogey and now sits joint for the lead with DeChambeau at seven under.
Cantlay -5 (15)
A solid par sees Cantlay sat just two shots back from McIlroy and DeChambeau.
The American is ticking along nicely, but he will need the birdie putts to start dropping if he wants to make any sort of charge.
DeChambeau -7 (14)
DeChambeau gets away with another dodgy tee shot.
Having found the rough off the tee, he managed to muscle the ball onto the green and then held his nerve to two-putt from long range.
He doesn't look happy with his putter, though; something is clearly troubling him.
McIlroy -8, Cantlay (14)
A seven iron was too much club for McIlroy on the par three 15th and he's now got a very tricky chip if he wants to save par.
His ball landed hard and shot straight over the back into the thick stuff.
It looks like he's got some tall grass behind his ball, which could be very difficult to work around or through.
McIlroy -8 (14)
Another hole safely navigated for McIlroy as he gets up and down from the left side of the green on the 14th hole.
A very confident putt from the Northern Irishman, he's looking very solid at the moment.
Another tee shot finds the thick stuff for DeChambeau.
Surely, he can't keep getting away with this. His ball looks like it landed in a clear patch but we will have to wait for a closer look.
DeChambeau -7 (13)
And just like the lead is cut to one.
DeChambeau's putt had the line, but just came up short, leaving an easy tap in for Birdie.
DeChambeau -6 (12)
Bryson has hit a near-perfect tee shot on the 13th hole to leave himself with a lengthy eagle putt.
We could see him rejoin McIlroy at the top in mere minutes.
If the eagle doesn't drop, you would have to think he's looking at an easy birdie to half the deficit.
McIlroy -8, Cantlay -5 (13)
McIlroy is on a roll, and following his booming tee shot on 13, he gets up and down for birdie to move to eight under, two strokes clear of DeChambeau.
We're in for a wild ride, folks. Strap in.
DeChambeau -6 (12)
DeChambeau's errant tee shots have finally caught up with him. Following a chip out from the thick stuff, he's had to walk off with a bogey on the 12th hole to leave McIlroy with the solo lead.
McIlroy decided to go for the green in one on the short par-four 13th, and he absolutely smashed it, airmailing the green by about 15 yards.
Thankfully, his ball took a nice bounce off the stands and rolled back to a low area.
Finau made birdie from the exact same spot mere minutes ago, and McIlroy will fancy his chances of getting it close.
Cantlay also went for driver, and despite pitching it on the putting surface, his ball finished in a similar spot to his playing partner.
McIlroy -7, Cantlay -4 (12)
McIlroy holes another long putt on the 12th hole, and now he's tied for the lead with DeChambeau at seven under.
Meanwhile, Cantlay misses a six-footer for par and drops back to four under.
It's really heating up on this back nine.
DeChambeau -7, Pavon -2 (11)
A big sigh of relief for DeChambeau as he holes a seven-footer for par on the 11th.
His driver hasn't been playing ball today, but his putter has been red hot, especially from mid-range.
