Former World No.1 Vijay Singh has been forced to withdraw from the 2025 Masters Tournament.

Singh made the trip to Augusta National and was expected to tee it up at the first men's major of the year.

But an injury has forced the 2000 Masters winner to withdraw.

It has not been revealed what issue Singh is dealing with.

His withdrawal brings the field down to 95 players.

It also ends a streak of 31 consecutive Masters starts for the now 62-year-old.

Singh saw off a strong challenge from Ernie Els to claim the 2000 Masters.

It was the only major championship Tiger Woods did not win that year.

No player has replaced Singh in the field.

Singh is a three-time major champion. Aside from slipping on the green jacket, he also won the US PGA Championship twice (1998, 2004).

His 2004 season was undoubtedly his best, with the golfer winning nine times including the US PGA.

That saw him ascend to the top of the OWGR and de-throne the aforementioned Woods.

Singh was the World No.1 for 32 weeks.

The 2025 Masters begins on Thursday.

Scottie Scheffler is the favourite to land his third green jacket, followed by Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele.

Monday's practice round at Augusta was hit by stormy weather.

Players and patrons had to be evacuated from the course a 4.35pm BST owing to the threat inclement weather.

Tuesday's forecast looks much brighter.

More follows.
