Struggling PGA Tour golfer Max Homa could be overheard yelling 'come on dude' after he smashed a shot into a marshal during the first round of the 2025 Masters

Homa came into the first men's major of the year at Augusta National completely all over the place with his game.

So far this season, he has missed five cuts from eight starts and tumbled down the world rankings to 81st.

He has changed equipment manufacturers from Titleist to Cobra, got a new agent and even changed his golf coach.

To make matters worse, Homa revealed on the eve of the 2025 Masters he had been sacked by his long-time caddie Joe Greiner.

That didn't stop Homa grinding though and only Bryson DeChambeau hit more shots on the range before The Masters officially got underway on Thursday.

Homa played his first seven holes in level par courtesy of two birdies and two bogeys before the unfortunate incident occurred.

He pulled his tee shot left into the pine straw and was attempting to get himself back into position.

Instead, he found the backside of a startled marshal.

Homa could be overheard yelling: "Come on, dude!"

From there, Homa manged to save his par and eventually carded a two-over 74.

His playing partner, Justin Rose, took the 18-hole lead with a sublime 7-under 65.

Unsurprisingly, lots of golf fans commented on the clip.

"Closest he's come to hitting a flag stick in months," one commented.

Another added: "If there was ever a shot to sum up Homa's season so far it's this one."

Max Homa reveals his caddie called time on their partnership

Before the major got underway Homa confirmed he had split with his long-time caddie Joe Greiner.

Greiner is carrying the sticks for Justin Thomas this week as his regular looper is unavailable.

Homa told reporters it 'sucked' Greiner decided to call it quits after all these years

"It was not my choice," Homa said. "But we always had a deal that we're friends first and friendship mattered more than the work thing, and he was wise enough to do what he did."

He added: "I would rather walk life with Joe forever than this dumb game.

"So it's been hard to process, but also good in a way, because friendship does matter more than any of this stuff."
