Latest TGL viewing figures paint a worrying picture for Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy
Are golf fans already losing interest in TGL? The latest TV viewing figures from Week 5 will not impress Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy very much.

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's TGL endured its lowest viewership average of the season so far during its latest match between Boston Common Golf and Los Angeles GC.
Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood competed for Los Angeles GC, while McIlroy, Keegan Bradley and Adam Scott represented Boston Common Golf in Tuesday night's Week 5 contest at the SoFi Center in Florida.
Los Angeles GC flew out the blocks early and quickly raced into a commanding 5-0 lead.
You could argue the one-sided scoreline likely proved something of a turn-off for golf fans given the match was just about over after the nine-hole triples session.
Then again there were also significant technical glitches for the first time too.
That most certainly would not have helped.
McIlroy's team picked up some late consolation points in the match but it was too little too late and they ended up losing their second consecutive match, this time by a scoreline of 6-2.
Boston Common Golf were defeated in their first match a week previous in overtime by Woods' Jupiter Links GC.
TGL is off next week and will return on 17 February.

But back to the top of the story and McIlroy and Woods - along with a number of big business tycoons and sporting stars who have heavily backed this new Tomorrow Golf League - will no doubt be disheartened to see the latest slide in average viewers on ESPN.
Scroll down to see the numbers...
According to the latest Nielsen figures, the Week 5 contest between Los Angeles GC and Boston Common Golf saw a notable decrease in viewership average to 544,000.
That was more than 300,000 viewers less than the Week 4 average (864,000) when McIlroy faced Woods.
Even that figure seemed disappointing given the PGA Tour's two biggest stars and the TGL founders were locking horns for the first time.
Many anticipated Woods vs McIlroy would have been the most popular match of the entire TGL season given their superstar status.
But that rather bizarrely wasn't the case.

The latest TGL number from Week 5 is nearly half of the 1m average for when Woods' Jupiter Links GC made a losing debut (12-1) in Week 2.
That remains the highest ESPN viewing average on TGL so far.
The opening week of TGL generated an average of 919,000.
The Bay GC trounced New York GC 9-2 that week.
Week 3 saw 682,000 viewers when Atlanta Drive GC saw off New York GC 4-0.
Many early critics of TGL considered it was always going to face an uphill battle to keep golf fans onside, especially during weeks when Woods was not in action.
And the latest ESPN viewing figures would appear to suggest the battle has already begun for TGL as early as the first six weeks.

Golf fans have been reacting to TGL's latest TV figures on social media.
Here's a look at some notable comments on X.
Look away now, Tiger and Rory...
RIP TGL
These are awful numbers
Crikey and we thought LIV's numbers were bad...
First, fix the tracker, its not accurate. 2nd, allow gambling between players and with viewers, make it interactive. TGL won't survive without engagement.
It's so boring, can't get into it
Not real golf that's why
How did Rory vs Tiger not get the highest?!
Might be time to get some LIV guys involved
Has to be same day and time to create a following. Moving around is a bad recipe and there has only been one competitive match so far… I want to like it, however certainly has some issues to solve.
The teams make zero sense, it's like they were all picked out of a hat...
I gotta be honest the whole thing sucks...
Tried to give TGL a chance but it's a hard watch
I fell asleep watching it last week
Maybe sort the tech out and I'll give it a chance
They need Tiger playing on TGL every week, nobody cares otherwise
