European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald has revealed Sergio Garcia may have one last hurrah in the biennial dust-up.
European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald has revealed Sergio Garcia may be involved in next September's contest at Bethpage Black.
Donald made the revelation in a news conference in New York on Tuesday alongside his American counterpart Keegan Bradley.
For his part, Bradley stressed that he's not thinking about combining the captaincy with a playing role just yet.

Donald, however, revealed Garcia may have one last hurrah wearing the white, blue and yellow colours of Ryder Cup Europe.
"First of all, obviously he resigned his membership a couple of years ago but we've had a few chats," Donald said of Garcia.
"He's considering re-joining [the DP World Tour]. He'd have to follow all the rules and regulations like everyone else and if he does that then, again, he will be eligible to partake in the Ryder Cup."

The Spaniard is Europe's record points scorer with 28.5 and has been involved in all but two Cups since his debut in 1999.
Garcia resigned his DP World Tour membership last July after a panel of retired high court judges ruled the European-based circuit had the right to fine golfers for participating in LIV events.
Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter also joined the former Masters champion in resigning from their home circuit.
Despite severing his ties with the DP World Tour, Garcia made an audacious last-ditch attempt to be involved in last September's Ryder Cup in Rome.
Telegraph Sport reported Garcia was willing to pay off the £700,000 fines he racked up and play in any DP World Tour event in 2024 that did not clash with LIV's schedule in return for being considered for selection.
It was understood at the time that Donald was not aware of Garcia's efforts to resurrect his Ryder Cup career.
Wentworth HQ officials described Garcia's attempt to be involved at the last minute as 'bizarre'.
Garcia talked about the possibility of playing a Ryder Cup again in March.
He said he would be 'sad' if he was never involved as a player again.
"Hopefully, things will kind of settle and, you know, we'll see where everything sits at the end," he said.
"And hopefully, they just give us the possibility — all of us — to be a part of it again if we're playing well enough.
"We'll see where that settles in the near future."
Garcia finished third in LIV Golf's 2024 season.
He claimed his maiden LIV victory in Andalucia in July, defeating India's Anirban Lahiri in a sudden-death playoff.
It represented his first win in four years.
