PGA Tour star Xander Schauffele boasts a considerable net worth.

Just exactly how much cash Schauffele has in his bank account is unknown.

But we can make a calculated guess about his finances.

Schauffele, 30, joined the PGA Tour in 2017 and the American has since gone on to earn an astronomical sum of prize money.

Winning money on the course is the bulk of his income.

As of 16 August 2024, Schauffele had won $54,777,483 overall.

That figure doesn't include other performance-related bonuses.

PGA Tour prize money

Before the 2024 FedExCup playoffs, Schauffele had earned $15,867,160

The season represented his most lucrative to date after he won two major championships.

Schauffele also played well in the eight 'signature' events, which feature bumper prize purses.

He also tied for second at golf's unofficial 'fifth' major, The Players, and walked away with $1,891,666.

PGA Tour bonuses

In 2021, the PGA Tour announced the player impact program (PIP).

The Tour claimed the PIP was a way to financially reward players who had the most significant impact in promoting the circuit and generating fan interest.

But some critics took a dim view, suggesting it was just a way to prevent more players joining the Saudi-back LIV Golf League

The PIP awarded bonuses based on a player's influence on and off the course through a number of different metrics such as internet searches and TV exposure.

Schauffele did not feature in the inaugural PIP, which dished out $40m to the top-10 players.

Tiger Woods won the inaugural PIP for $8,000,000.

Schauffele placed seventh in the 2022 PIP, securing a payday of $5,000,000

A year later, Schauffele secured another PIP bonus for $2,000,000

The PIP bonus poor for 2023 was $100m and payouts were given to the top 20.

It is based off the FedExCup standings.

Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 race, scooping $8,000,000 and Schauffele finished second and was awarded $6,000,000

PGA Tour Enterprises

Schauffele also benefits from player equity in PGA Tour Enterprises.

The for-profit company was created as a result of the Tour's schism with the aforementioned LIV.

A group of private investors, Strategic Sports Group, ploughed $1.5bn into the company in January 2024.

As a result, nearly 200 PGA Tour members were given the opportunity to become equity holders.

Schauffele was one of them and he will receive regular grants starting from 2025.

Major championship prize money

Xander Schauffele won his maiden major at the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

Schauffele made a birdie on the final hole to pip Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke and claim the top prize of $3,330,000 from the $18,500,000 purse.

He collected slightly less when he won the final men's major of 2024, The Open Championship at Royal Troon.

That was because the governing body of the major wanted to take a stand against the rising and 'unsustainable' purses in elite men's professional golf.

Still, Schauffele departed the Ayrshire links $3,100,000 richer.

Sponsorships and endorsements

Schauffele also has several sponsorships with high-profile brands.

Details of these arrangements are kept private but it is common knowledge they are extremely lucrative.

For context, Rory McIlroy's contract he signed with Nike in 2013 to wear their clothing over a 10-year period was said to be in the region of $200m

Schauffele's sponsors include:

  • Adidas - Footwear sponsor
  • Descente - Clothing

  • Hyland - A software company specializing in content services
  • AON - A professional services firm providing risk, retirement, and health solutions
