The PGA Tour are remaining tight-lipped over whether they will change the location of Tiger Woods' Genesis Invitational this year as wildfires continue to rip through LA.

The annual event, hosted by the 15-time major champion at the iconic Riviera Country Club, is scheduled to take place over 13-16 February.

Riviera is located in the same Pacific Palisades neighbourhood that has been ravaged by fires in recent days.

PGA Tour members were reportedly written to over the weekend, according to the LA Times.

At this point, it is understood that it is far too premature to make a decision.

"Although the Riviera Country Club has not been directly affected by the fires, our immediate concern is the health and welfare of those in the affected communities, including all our members who have ties to Southern California," the letter said, according to the publication

The Genesis Invitational was previously known as the Los Angeles Open.

Woods made his PGA Tour debut in the event as a high school student in 1992.

Now 49 years old, Woods has served as the tournament host of the Genesis Invitational since 2019.

He had just finished his hosting duties in February 2022 when he crashed luxury SUV in the Los Angeles hills.

The Genesis Invitational was the only non-major Woods played in last year.

He was forced to withdraw early in the second round, though, with a stomach bug.

An ambulance was called to the club, but Woods walked out a few hours after he was whisked off the course on a golf cart.

Tiger Woods to make TGL debut

In other Woods news, the five-time Masters winner will make his TGL debut tomorrow.

Woods' Jupiter Links quartet are facing Los Angeles on 14 January.

All the action gets underway at 7pm EST (12:00am GMT).

The first match of Tomorrow's Golf League featured New York taking on The Bay.

The Bay, led by an inspired Ludvig Aberg alongside Shane Lowry and Wyndham Clark, defeated Xander Schauffele, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Rickie Fowler 9-2.

Woods was inside the purpose-built SoFi Center on opening night alongside his business partner Rory McIlroy

He was particularly bullish about TGL's chances of success.

Woods described the venture as 'a dream come true'.

He has also claimed his side are undoubtedly the strongest team in the league.

Woods made that statement in an hilarious Q&A with his teammate Tom Kim.

He also reckoned his side have 'got the rizz'.
