PGA Tour golfer on expenses post: "I wasn't intending it to sound that way"
PGA Tour member Michael Kim has taken to X to clarify that he wasn't complaining when he shared his end of year expenses.
PGA Tour member Michael Kim has clarified he wasn't complaining when he shared how much he had spent on flights and hotels this year.
Earlier in the week the South Korean took to X to reveal his jaw-dropping expenses from the 2024 season.
Kim played 30 tournaments on the PGA Tour in 2023-2024 and kept full status by the skin of his teeth during the FedEx Cup Fall season.
The 31-year-old said he spent zero dollars on private flights and rarely flew business class.
That being said, he still managed to rack up $92,698.11 in travel and hotel expenses alone.
It should be pointed out that Kim also won $1,484,233 in official prize money on the course this year.
That's before taxes and other expenses, such as paying his caddie, coaches, the cost of food, rental cars and much more.
Kim did not share how much he paid his caddie out of respect.
Still some thought Kim was complaining.
In his latest Q&A, Kim was asked if he was surprised by the level of traction his original post got.
"I don't know," he wrote.
"People thought I was complaining which I wasn't intending it to sound that way.
"People like inside the ropes type stuff which is why I posted it and I thought some might like it."
Elsewhere, Kim revealed his top five 'most likable' players on Tour are Rickie Fowler, Si Woo Kim, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa and Collin Morikawa.
He also revealed his favourite events are in Hawaii, such as The Sentry and Sony Open, because they fall at the beginning of the year and 'everyone has hope'.
Kim also encouraged amateur players to change their drivers every few years and he prefers playing in The Open rather than the U.S. Open.
"It's almost spiritual playing links golf," he wrote.
