Jason Day takes bizarre (?!) dig at Nike after ending $10m a year deal
Jason Day has offered what could be considered a parting shot at Nike after severing ties with the sporting giant after seven years.
Jason Day has delivered what could be considered a sizable parting shot at Nike after cutting his ties with the sporting giant after seven years.
Day was reportedly paid $10m per year to wear Nike apparel since signing a deal with the swoosh in 2017.
But going forward the Aussie will be looking considerably different out on Tour after becoming a brand ambassador for Malbon Golf.
In a promotional video for the brand Day claimed his goals are to return to the world number one position, win a major and work harder every day.
"My goals shouldn't surprise you," he said.
"But my new style will. I'm entering a new chapter with Malbon Golf, so things are going to look a little different around here.
"With my look as relaxed as my swing, and my outlooks as sharp as my perspective, my style and my game are dialled in to win.
"When it comes to my game, it's all Jason. But when it comes to my style, it's a new Day."
Day was snapped in his new gear by the PGA Tour's lead editorial staff member Sean Martin:

Opening up on his decision to leave Nike, he explained to Golf Digest: "There have been times that I'd be standing on the first tee and look over to see another golfer in essentially the same outfit as me.
"I'm excited to be able to go outside of the box and wear something that's dramatically different than what everyone is used to seeing in golf today."
Day is not the only high-profile player to make a huge apparel switch ahead of the new season.
Xander Schauffele appears to have parted ways with adidas Golf. Schauffele was spotted in Hawaii wearing Descente clothing.
As for Nike, there is still no news regarding their highest-profile athlete.
There were rumours over Christmas the PNC Championship would be the last time we would see Tiger Woods in Nike gear.
That came after NLU reported Nike were considering shutting down their entire golf division.
Woods only offered the same, five-word response to the reporter who was brave enough to ask him about this.
Other than Woods, their main ambassadors are Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka and Nelly Korda.
