Golf legend Tiger Woods makes unsurprising announcement
Tiger Woods and his teenage son Charlie have officially committed to the forthcoming hit-and-giggle PGA Tour event at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.
Tiger Woods and his teenage son Charlie Woods have officially committed to playing the forthcoming PNC Championship.
The annual, 36-hole hit-and-giggle PGA Tour event will be played over 16-17 December at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.
Major champions or winners of the Players are only eligible to compete. Initially, the tournament was only played as a father-son.
It will be the fourth time Woods, 47, has played in the event alongside Charlie, who is now 14 years old.
"It is an amazing gift to be able to share my love of golf with Charlie and we genuinely do look forward to playing in the PNC Championship all years," the golfer told reporters on 22 November.
"Competing together, against a field of so many golfing greats and their families, is so special."
The 15-time major champion finished runner-up to John Daly and his son in 2022.

Their appearance came 10 months after Woods sustained serious injuries to his right leg in his car crash in hills of Los Angeles.
Woods is still struggling to deal with those injuries and went under the knife again in April after hobbling out of the 47th Masters.
He had a subtalar fusion surgery on his right ankle to help alleviate the plantar fasciitis (inflammation of the heel) he developed.
The iconic golfer is on the comeback trail yet again and is also scheduled to play in his own PGA Tour event he hosts annually in the Bahamas next week.
He will be allowed to use a golf cart at the PNC.
