Charlie Woods endures horror pre-qualifier for PGA Tour event
Tiger Woods' son Charlie Woods carded a 16-over 86 in a PGA Tour pre-qualifier in Florida.
Tiger Woods' son Charlie Woods endured a horror round of 16-over 86 as he finished second last in a PGA Tour pre-qualifier in Florida
Charlie, 15, was teeing it up in an 18-hole qualifier on Thursday 22 February at Lost Lake Golf Club in Hobe Sound.
He was bidding to play his way into next Monday's qualifier for the Cognizant Classic (formerly the Honda Classic) in The Palm Beaches.
But the fairytale story was not to be for Charlie as he slumped to a round of 86.
It should be noted Charlie is still an amateur and this was always going to be a tough assignment for him in his biggest test yet.
A twirl at the first.

Charlie carded four bogeys, two doubles, and a disastrous 12 on the par-4 7th.
Interestingly, Charlie opted to wear a Titleist cap and no Sun Day Red apart from his glove.
Sun Day Red is of course the brand new apparel and footwear company of his father Woods.

The 18-hole qualifier Woods Jnr was competing in was one of four pre-qualifiying sites for next week's Cognizant Classic.
Charlie is the son of record-tying 82-time PGA Tour winner Tiger Woods, who unfortunately was forced to withdraw during the second round of his PGA Tour comeback at the Genesis Invitational last week.
Woods, 48, cited illness for the reason for his latest WD on the PGA Tour, as speculation now mounts as to when we could next see the 15-time major champion in action.
