Scottie Scheffler incredibly duffs his tee shot down 18 at The Open Championship
Scottie Scheffler made us all feel better about our golf games when topping his tee shot into the rough on the 18th at The Open.
Scottie Scheffler might officially be the world's best player in 2024, but he made golf fans around the world feel a whole lot better about their own games with his tee shot down the par-4 18th in the final round of The 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.
Scheffler, 28, had a weekend to forget by his own high standards, especially coming into this week as a red-hot 9/2 favourite.
The World No.1 had another one of those weeks to forget on the greens, holing just about nothing over the final 36 holes.
As Scheffler stood on the 18th tee in the final round, knowing full well he was out of contention for a first Claret Jug, his putting woes seemingly affected his driving too.
Scheffler incredibly duffed his tee shot into the deep stuff right front of him.
In fact, his ball nose-dived so badly we're not entirely sure it cleared the red tees in front of him.
The drive stunned those in the Sky Sports Golf commentary box, and the rest of us!

Scheffler went on to make a double-bogey six on the 18th hole as he signed for a lacklustre 1-over 72.
He started the final round two shots off the pace but ended it eight shots back of Xander Schauffele, who put on a Sunday clinic in the Ayrshire breeze.
Scheffler finished in the red for the week on 1-under par alongside Sungjae Im and LIV Golf's top performer Jon Rahm.
