Sky Sports Golf pundit slams Charley Hull after latest near-miss on LPGA Tour
Sky Sports pundit: "If you put Charley Hull against Nelly Korda, then I'm picking Nelly every single day of the week."
Sky Sports Golf pundit and three-time LPGA Tour winner Trish Johnson has slammed her English compatriot Charley Hull following her latest near-miss.
Hull, 28, has two LPGA Tour titles to her name and three on the Ladies European Tour, but in the eyes of Johnson she should have plenty more trophies in the cabinet.
Johnson, 58, considers Hull's aggressive course management in going hunting for every flag is holding her back from success.
Hull came agonisingly close to clinching her maiden major title last season with a T2 at the US Women's Open at Pebble Beach and a solo second at the Women's British Open at Walton Heath.
She ended up finishing the 2023 season with five runner-up finishes overall.
The six-time European Solheim Cup star has continued to keep her foot down in 2024 but has still yet to win on the LPGA Tour since October 2022.

Hull had a golden chance to pick up her LPGA Tour hat-trick at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship on Sunday but she dropped three shots over her closing two holes to finish T10 and four strokes behind newly-promoted World No.1 Nelly Korda.
It marked a fourth top-10 finish for Hull in her last five worldwide starts this season.
Hull also bumped herself up to seventh in the Rolex Rankings.
She has never ended a season ranked seventh or better in the world.
But when pressed on the Sky Sports Golf podcast if Hull is really as successful as she should be, eight-time European Solheim Cup player Johnson came down hard on her.
Johnson said:
Hull will bid to land her LPGA Tour hat-trick at this week's inaugural Ford Championship presented by KCC, which will once again be live this weekend on Sky Sports Golf.
The Ford Championship is the penultimate LPGA Tour event before the women's major season gets up and running at the Chevron Championship, where Hull finished a career-best T2 in 2016.
Johnson believes if Hull is ever going to get back in the winners circle, then she needs to change her aggressive playing style.
Johnson said:
GolfMagic recently had the pleasure of spending time with Charley Hull at the Aramco Team Series Tampa, and our very own Alex Lodge got to play a hole with her.
