Zach Johnson already handed one 'firm no' by Team USA ahead of Ryder Cup
Zach Johnson has revealed he asked Team USA do not want the Netflix cameras rolling in the team room at the forthcoming Ryder Cup.
Zach Johnson has revealed he let Team USA decide whether the cameras filming the second series of the Netflix golf documentary Full Swing could roll behind the scenes at the forthcoming Ryder Cup.
And the result? A firm 'no' as the consensus appears to be that the team would like to preserve the 'sanctity and sacredness' of the week.
Johnson told reporters:
Whilst the news will be disappointing for golf fans it is hardly surprising as team rooms have always been off limits.
The forthcoming Ryder Cup, the 44th in history, is the first to be played after unprecedented disruption in men's professional golf after the emergence of LIV Golf and the subsequent fall out.
Team USA are slight favourites despite not winning on European soil in more than 30 years.
One player on the American team, Xander Schauffele, has revealed that 'curse' isn't anything to worry about as he inadvertently got the trash talk flowing.
As for Full Swing, PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh has confirmed the cameras will still be at the Marco Simone golf course in Italy.
The PGA of America runs the Ryder Cup in conjunction with the DP World Tour.
Waugh said:
The first season of Full Swing was released on 15 February 2023.
There were eight episodes released which delved into the lives of Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Ian Poulter, Joel Dahmen, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Tony Finau, Collin Morikawa and Rory McIlroy.
