Watch Jon Rahm go absolutely BANANAS (!) with wild Ryder Cup eagle
Jon Rahm holed out for a stunning eagle at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club's 16th during the Friday fourball session at the 2023 Ryder Cup.
ROME - We are familiar with Jon Rahm's wild celebrations.
But they hit differently when it comes to the Ryder Cup. Think back to the time he beat Tiger Woods at Le Golf National in 2018: pure, undiluted joy.
Rahm added another awesome highlight reel to his resume during his Saturday afternoon fourballs match with rookie Nicolai Hojgaard against World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka.
The contest ebbed and flowed. Hojgaard, playing his first ever Ryder Cup hole, sank an absolute bomb at No.1 to help the Europeans to an early lead.
Rahm and Hojgaard were two up at one stage but then Scheffler and Koepka came to life winning two consecutive holes at 9 and 10 to set up an enthralling finale.
Team USA went up by one at the 14th thanks to a Koepka birdie. The 16th, if you weren't aware, is gettable. But it's high risk, high reward.
Of course, Rahm went for it off the tee and his ball came to rest in the thick and juicy rough long of the green.
To a front pin, Rahm dug it out and the ball raced towards the cup. Rahm knew it was good. And so did his caddie Adam Hayes. Just look at both of their reactions.
And listen to the crowd! Just bonkers, bonkers stuff. An eagle two.

Scheffler went some way to shutting up Rahm at the very next hole, finding a birdie to take the contest to the last.
The 2022 Masters champion screamed to the crowd: "That's right! That's right!"
