Tiger Woods for next US Ryder Cup captain? "Hopefully we can talk him into it"
Tiger Woods hotly tipped to become the 2025 US Ryder Cup captain.
Former winning US Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III is hopeful Tiger Woods will be talked into becoming the next US Ryder Cup captain.
Woods has been hotly tipped by several former captains to assume the role of 2025 US Ryder Cup captain at Bethpage Black, a venue where the 15-time major champion won the 2002 US Open.
Paul Azinger, who captained the US Ryder Cup team to success in 2008, admitted last weekend he wants to see both Woods and Sergio Garcia skipper the Ryder Cup teams in two years' time in New York.
Woods, who will be 49 when the 2025 Ryder Cup swings around, was not in attendance for USA's 16.5-11.5 loss at Marco Simone in Rome, Italy, as he continues to recover from ankle surgery.
But the 15-time major champion could be in a position to captain the team in two years' time should he so wish.
To the delight of Woods fans, he was last month seen walking around caddying for his young cub Charlie Woods, who has once again been smashing it on the golf course.
Love III, who lead the 2016 US Ryder Cup to a 17-11 victory at Hazeltine, has already cast his vote for Woods but admits he will not be putting any pressure on him to take it.

Speaking ahead of this week's PGA Tour Champions event, Love III said:
Despite Woods' incredible PGA Tour career, he has only won the Ryder Cup once in eight appearances as a player.
That came at Brookline in 1999.
Woods' record as a US Ryder Cup player stands at: 13–21–3 (W-L-H).
That is a 35% winning record.
Woods was a vice-captain of Love III's 2016 US Ryder Cup team that defeated Darren Clarke's European Ryder Cup team at Hazeltine.
The former World No.1 then went on to be a playing captain of the 2019 US Presidents Cup team that took care of Ernie Els' Internationals team 16-14 over at Royal Melbourne in Australia.
