JPX 850 hybrid

Mizuno's JPX 850 hybrid is a stunning club sat behind the ball and also hanging out of the bag. The blue crown contrasts beautifully with the black face, and the company's logo is a useful alignment aid.

The head shape is traditional, and you will notice it is reminiscent of past models of hybrid from the brand.

Mizuno has implemented a Waffle Crown Design on the crown of the club. This allows mass to be redistributed, allowing the centre of gravity to move lower which increases ball speeds on shots struck low on the face.

The Shockwave Sole, which essentially is a series of ridges, flexes to give the club extra distance and forgiveness. In terms of length, this is one of the longest hybrids we've hit, and what's even more impressive is that there is a heap of forgiveness on offer as well.

Shots struck from all over the face still travel a decent distance, and there is also a superb, soft feel provided when the club is struck.

The club emits a pleasing, full-bodied sound that will appeal to many.

Verdict

One of the best hybrids on the market. Long, forgiving, and produces a soft feel.
