Sungjae Im nearly made the most RIDICULOUS blind eagle with epic recovery shot
Sungjae Im may have already hit the recovery shot of the season on the PGA Tour even though we have 45 events still to play.
Sungjae Im may have already hit the recovery shot of the season during the opening round of the Shriners Children's Open on the PGA Tour at TPC Summerlin.
Im found himself in a spot of bother on the par-4 third hole. We say spot of bother, it's not like he was in the thick rough. He was in what is described as the "native area".
This looked unbelievably difficult if you're a chopper like yours truly.

Okay, so hitting a shot off a car part path from or from waste area might not be the most difficult shot for a PGA Tour pro to execute.
But what made this even harder was the fact that it was a blind shot. Uphill. From 163 yards. Im had to get the ball up in the air very quickly to prevent his golf ball catapulting back in his direction from the rocks in front of him.
The PGA Tour shared the video of the shot from two angles and it really is remarkable. Unfortunately, Im's golf ball didn't drop for an eagle but he tapped in for an easy birdie on his way to opening round of 6-under 65 in Las Vegas.

Im, now 24, is searching for his third victory on the PGA Tour. He is the defending champion here.
If he were to taste victory, they should definitely put a plaque in that spot.
Im comes into this tournament off the back of taking part in the 2022 Presidents Cup, where the International side lost 17.5 to 12.5 against Davis Love III's trailblazing U.S. side.
Despite defeat, Im made headlines after he was filmed giving it large in the after party, dancing to "Gangnam Style".
In the earlier part of this week, he praised the highly-rated youngster Tom Kim, 20, who also opened his week in Las Vegas with a 65 and was two shots back of the early leader Tom Hoge.

Im said: "Tom Kim has definitely great potential to become a big star. I'm glad he's doing well. I'm happy as a competitor, as a friend. Him doing well motivates me to do well, and likewise the other way.
"I think we're going to have some good competition and good friendship."
