Jonas Blixt had WILD plans after shooting 62 at John Deere Classic
Jonas Blixt had a hilarious plan after grabbing the first-round lead at TPC Deere Run.
Jonas Blixt shot an incredible 9-under 62 on Thursday at TPC Deere Run for the first-round lead of the John Deere Classic, and his plans for afterwards were... wild.
Blixt, 39, matched his career-low round on the PGA Tour Thursday with the 62, and also recorded his first sub-30 nine-hole stretch after going on a birdie tear to end his round.
The Swede was 2-under par entering the turn, and then proceeded to card five birdies and an eagle for a 7-under 29 on the back nine at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
It was a complete turn-around from the week prior, when Blixt missed the cut at the Korn Ferry Tour event after shooting rounds of 71 and 68.
"I had six weeks off and worked a lot with my swing coach back home. I had struggled a lot I feel like a few months there, and I think I found something this week after playing the Korn Ferry last week," he told reporters following Thursday's 62.
The three-time PGA Tour winner was then asked what his plans were for the rest of the day - a quite typical question for the first-round leader.
However, Blixt had the most unique response.
"I got a little -- I'm going to do a couple of drills pretty quick, I think. Probably take me like an hour," he said.
He added that he hadn't yet looked up what animals the zoo he was going to had, but explained how the pair had settled on the post-round activity.
Norlander did not find TPC Deere Run as easy as his fellow Swede, instead shooting a 1-over 72 on Thursday.
